Pure Silk Oversized Self-Tie Bow Ties:
I started creating these oversized butterfly bowties for the real style enthusiasts at the beginning of summer and I'm glad I did! . Tom Ford Sells their satin version for $260 so I decided to make a more affordable version while keeping the highest quality possible, using pure silk.
This is a pure Italian silk I found and bought the rest of because the owner is going out of business. I have never seen silk like this before, and the finish is simply the best. Not overly shiny, and buttery. The main shade is an ice blue whihc you can see better in the photos with the pink necktie in the background. The floral is a steel blue which is a cross between grey and blue.
I did the reverse side of the bowtie in the matte side of the silk so you have the option to untie and retie it with the more matte side facing out, depending on your preference.
I interface these bowties so they are perfectly weighted, never too droopy or too stiff. The interfacing I use also make the fabric wrinkle free so they are very wearable without having to iron it every time. I REALLY tried to think of everything with this bowtie. It's supposed to be 'perfect' and well cared for <3
Neck band fabric is about 1" wide and the actual bow when tied measures about 4.5" wide (from side to side) and about 3.25" down (top to bottom)
This bowtie also fits almost all neck sizes because it is adjustable at the back! (about 14"-18" neck size) The strap left over sits under the collar to avoid using a bunchy loop or frustrating adjusting. These bowties adjust easily in seconds by just pulling. No fiddling.
